Wash tested!

Thursday, June 12th, 2014

Hi, I bought one of your HP2 flashlights at the Portland Swap Meet this last April.  I carry it daily and have used it almost daily.  It is an excellent flashlight.  I left it in my pants, my wife also missed it and it went through the wash.  When she noticed it, it had been in for 20 minutes and at 105 degrees.  Well, it still shines bright!  Thank you for a quality flashlight.  I plan on buying flashlights from your company for my wife and my sisters to carry for safety.

Saved by the light!

Friday, May 30th, 2014

G20 may have saved my Mom. The only question I have is if the light that I used last night is an entry level light, I really want to try your top of the line one. We had a tornado last night here in Panora Iowa. After coming out of our basement I grabbed the G20 and headed to my parents. In pouring rain, lightning and a brief inspection it was thought that the home was intact. I took the G20 around the house one last time to look at the roof and from the ground I could see that the roof had a crack about 20ft long in it. This crack let water into the cieling in my mothers room. Without this light, and its power we would have not seen the crack, my mom would have been in bed where the cieling later collapsed @ 4a.m. Very impressed, and what a Mothers Day it was.

Blinded by the light of my A25

Tuesday, May 13th, 2014

I have owned a Coast A25 for more than a year, purchased from Lights & Knives in Portland, OR via mail.

Coast A25

Coast A25

The A25 is my EDC portable torch, holstered on the waist strap of a fanny pack style tech tool bag.  The A25 gives me a *true* white light, not “yellowish,” not “blued,” but the next best thing to actual daylight.

The A25′s true white light makes it very fast and easy for me to correctly discern insulation/sheathing colored stripes and other markings on wire strands in complex cable bundles.  I also prefer how the A25′s light performs over the lifespan of a set of Duracell alkaline AAA batteries, such that I’ve never even considered using rechargeable AAAs in my A25.

I use the A25 many times a day, such that a fast, smooth draw and positioning of my thumb over the tail
cap switch is a well-conditioned reflex.  I really enjoy the heft and feel of the stainless steel in hand.  It feels real.  Other people never fail to notice it, when I use it.  I’ve dropped mine, unintentionally, a few times onto cement floors and sidewalks, without any dents or scratches that a 3M pad can’t buff out..

I routinely use the strobe to illuminate myself when crossing busy streets at night, to increase the odds that motorists who are prone to making rolling right turns on red will see me, rather than hit me in the crosswalk.

But for all of my familiarity with the A25, I never thought about the sequence of light triggered by the tailcap switch, until a couple of nights ago, when the A25 saved me from bodily harm.

In my town, robbers looking to steal tech stuff up close and personal are known to severely beat their victim, even when the victim offered no resistance whatsoever. Beat you as in put you in the hospital. Gladly handing all of your possessions over doesn’t buy you a damn thing.

I was leaving a client site, late at night, making my way to my car with a carry bag containing expensive test equipment.  Not much street lighting, not much traffic and no other decent souls around.  I try to keep my head on a swivel in situations like that, but no one is perfectly vigilant all of the time.  There are just too many shadows, unavoidable bottlenecks in a given path and places of concealment.

Seemingly out of no where, and without warning or explanation, someone grabbed my upper arm from behind me.  As I turned to look and prepared to duck, I also reflexively reached for my A25.

The guy was significantly taller than me and was, in my estimation, going to use force, rather than persuasion, to relieve me of my possessions.

I blinded him with the steady bright first press of the A25, which caused him to let go of me.  Then I tapped the A25 into bright strobe, still in his face, to try to create confusion, then I ran the rest of the way to my car and got the hell out of there.

There were several factors of dumb luck that played a role in my escape.  What if he had grabbed my other arm (on the side where I carry the A25)?  What if he had struck me from behind, rather than grabbed me, first?  I consider myself extremely fortunate to have gotten away unharmed.  I will thank dumb luck, in the real world, every time it breaks my way.

The one thing that wasn’t a matter of luck, though, was the sequence of light triggered by the A25′s tailcap switch.

Full bright, to stun/blind.  Bright strobe, to confuse/buy more time.  Lower light, to run away without falling or attracting even more unwelcomed attention.  That sequence of light finally made perfect sense to me and I will look for that specific sequence of light as a feature in any multi-function, strobing, “tactical” flashlight from now on.  That much makes perfectly good sense to me, now.

And, if the A25′s light alone hadn’t caused the thug to let go of me, the mass of the A25′s stainless steel body would have let me get in as many good, solid strikes as necessary to break his grip, so that I could get away.  I really do appreciate the heft and feel of the A25.

Thank you, Coast, for the A25.  It performed better than I ever thought to expect.

I’m sorry to learn that the A25′s been discontinued in its original form.

It’s the best flashlight that I have ever owned and, although I’m always looking for the next great thing in flashlights, I have yet to see any torch, tactical or otherwise, that surpasses the A25 for the things that I need it to do, in that overall form factor.

*Note:  The A25 is being replaced by the A25R rechargeable.

Coast quality

Tuesday, September 10th, 2013

Hello, I recently purchased a flashlight(G10 model) and wanted to let you know how great your product is. it surpassed my expectations twofold. It is very bright , lightweight and durable. It\’s not only very affordable, its also built solid. I was so impressed with your quality I went out and purchased the LED pocket tool ( P/N -19346). I have to say it is just as well built. I have been so impressed with your products that I am looking to purchase the multi tool that won the popular mechanics award(P/N-C5899B) as I\’m sure it is just as we\’ll built as the other products from you guys. The products a company makes says a lot about them; and yours speaks for themselves.    - James W

PX45 with Road Damage

I have several flashlights kicking around of various brands.  I like the new LED lights in particular.  I just found one of yours in the road — a PX-45 — the case is a little chipped, the rim at the business end is a little bent and the lens is cracked owing to its having been probably run over.  The light works, the focus is whisper-smooth, and it is very much brighter than the other $30.00-range lights I have!  Congrats on a solid product!

Dear Sirs,

I purchased a G25 flashlight approximately 2 years ago at a local Home Depot.  It became my favorite go to flashlight for around the house needs, and for business trips and vacations due to its small size.  This March of 2013 it came with me on our family sailing vacation in the British Virgin Islands.  One evening I was using it to see the BBQ grill after dark and it slipped from my hands and went overboard.  I was very upset.  It stayed  lit for several minutes in 10 to 15 feet of water and I was considering going after it when it went out.  The next afternoon while swimming around my son saw it and went down to retrieve the flashlight.  I took out the old batteries left it open to dry for the day, put in 2 new AA\’s and it turned on like a champ.  It is still my favorite flashlight.  Thanks for making a great product.  Sincerely, Eric

PX25 Flashlight

Friday, August 17th, 2012

This is the second time I have written your fine company but I felt I needed to write again.  I recently purchased a new Coast PX25 light for use during concealed carry. I could not be happier with my new PX25!  Several of my many firearm instructors always said “If you carry a gun, carry a good light!”  The PX25 replaced another Coast light which I now take to work for on job use.  I work in an industrial environment and use my Coast lights daily to see in a very low light setting.  I have been using Coast products now for many years and I am delighted each time I buy a new product.  I stopped buying another brand (which shall remain unnamed) years ago after my first Coast purchase.

I cannot thank you enough for your fine products. At least one Coast light is my companion daily whether I am at work or home.  I look forward to buying more fine Coast lights in the future.

Don S

P.S. The new G10 light I got for completing your survey is such a fine light I have to turn down co-workers request to borrow it almost daily.  No one gets my Coast lights! Except my wife, of course!

Dear Coast,

I absolutely love your flashlights. I am a state police officer for Colorado and these for what I do. I’ve had flashlights that cost close to $200. My friend turned me on to you guys when my last light died and I needed a new one. I will never be without a coast light. You guys keep doing good.

G10 LED FlashlightDear Coast guys,

I just wanted to thank you for the super little LED flashlight you sent me for completing your online survey. Once again I’m impressed with your products’ quality! I’ll keep recommending you to my friends as a wiser alternative to all the inferior, less durable, battery-wasting stuff out there (which I’m sure you’re aware of). Keep up the great work. Cheers, Andy

G10 blackJeff M

Not so much a question as a comment. I purchased an led head lamp (which I love) and then filled out the survey for a free led light. I received it today. What a great surprise. The G10 is a fantastic little product. Fantastic value for the cost of shipping. Thank you for such a great “free gift” I will definitely be telling all of my friends and neighbours about how great COAST products are!! Thanks again, Jeff

PX45 Flashlight

Friday, February 17th, 2012

PX45_7438_blackI recently retired from Criminal Justice after 41 plus years. Twenty years as a police officer and 21+ years in a Maximum Security Prison, where death row was located. As you can guess my need for a better then average flash light was a high priority. Unfortunately the LED lights were either not available when I was a Police Officer or I didnt know about them, but for the past 15 years I have relied on the PX45 LED or the earlier model, and I own two. If your life depends on your ability to see in the dark you need this light. It is excellent when one hand holds a firearm and the other holds a light. For home security its outstanding. There are so called tactical lights out there that cost an arm and a leg, but I can tell you this light is just as good or better, and it has all the same features, for better price.

I was starting down the ladder on a 72 foot tall grain silo with your G45 in my shirt pocket. I had attached a wrist strap to the light, which became stuck on the edge of the ladder and was pulled from my pocket. I was sure this flashlight was going to be in twelve pieces. When I got to the bottom a dent was in the case and the flashlight had turned itself on. Thanks for making a great product.

A month or so ago I got one of your ‘free’ lights ($3.50 postage) when I registered a light I had purchased. Last night we had the first major snowfall of the season and lost power. The little Coast light was my constant companion for the night, I love it!!!

Search and Rescue lights

Monday, October 24th, 2011

Just wanted to say-”great product!”. I am a 30 year Search and Rescue member. We do most of our work at night! “See Colorado by flashlight, in a snowstorm, is our motto” A bright light as (opposed to our low power head lamps) is very useful for tasks such as looking for tracks, signalling, and just seeing further. You lights are great! I hope you will consider adding a helmet compatible light with battery in rear to your selection. Right now I use a Petzl Duo waterproof but it is getting old. Need waterproof, super bright beam, flood beam and variable power flood setting. 4 AA power would be nice because we try and keep our radios, GPS, and lights with the same battery size. That would be really nice! Thanks again, Reg

HL7 Headlamp

Steven F

People Of Coast, I just want leave you guys a quick note commending you on the quality and craftsmanship on your products. The headlamp I bought of yours is far superior in every way shape and form to my old Energiser headlamp. This prompted me to buy one of your tactical flashlights, and ladies and gentlemen, it did not dissapoint. Throughout my years in the Navy, and now as Generator Winder in power plants around the globe, I rely on quality products time after time to get the job done. And its people like you that make my job that much easier. Rest assured you have found a lifelong customer, and I’ll be spreading the word. Thanks. Steven

HL7 Headlamp – Built to last!

Thursday, October 13th, 2011

Dave R.

I had 3 LED Lenser H7 headlamps and they rocked, but there were problems with the switches on all 3.  I sent them in for warranty repair, and I received 3 new Coast HL7 headlamps back. complete with batteries. Let me tell you, these things are BRIGHT and there is a definite improvement on the focusing function. Coast takes their products and their guarantees seriously, and I will not hesitate to buy Coast products in the future. Thanks, you guys, especially the staff in the warranty repair department.

Customer for life!

Tuesday, October 11th, 2011

I just purchased my 2nd Coast flashlight and just wanted to say “WOW! The 1st Coast flashlight I bought was a few years ago, and I was impressed from day one with how bright it was, in addition to being tough enough to be used anywhere, any time. Since the outer case was getting pretty banged up and the lens was scratched up, I decided to buy a replacement, and selected the current version, which I bought @ Home Depot. The first time I turned it on, I was amazed at how much light came from such a small flashlight, even when compared to my older Lenser. It actually lit up a wall 400-500 ft away! Well done guys, you have a customer for life.

PX25_7736_150Kevin M

Last week my father in law and I found ourselves in need of a flashlight. We went to his car to find 3 very nice models. The first one had a dead battery, the second a light beam less powerful than a matchstick and the third (a Coast LED flashlight) that lit up the neighborhood. Needless to say, today I purchased a Coast flashlight for MY car. Thanks for making quality products.

I just wanted to say that I am extremely impressed with the quality and durability of your gear.  Whenever I am in the market for a new knife, multi-tool, or flash light I investigate your products first. Keep up the good work!

I work for the georgia army national guard, and i have to say I am a big fan of Coast  flashlights. I am a flashlight enthusiast and i enjoy working with high output tactical flashlights that posses long run time. I have been using my T7 a lot and I love the brightness and clarity of the beam; not to mention the excellent focusing of the rapid focus system. I also really like the relatively low price for a quality flashlight that competitors (Surefire) can’t match. The coast name and line of products is growing and I look forward to investing in the quality advancements in flashlight technology that is sure to come. In the near future i plan on investing in the ! HL7 Headlamp, HP17, and the extraordinary HP21. Thank you Coast!

Coast flashlights and lanterns

EAL15_7050Scott D

I am a park ranger in West Virginia and manage one of our large resort state parks. I have had many lights during my career. I once had a nine D-cell Mag Light. I use your HL7, various Lensers such as 851801,and I carry a P2 all the time. I also carry two EAL15 in my vehicle for the flashing red during roadside emergencies. Our maintenance and housekeeping staffs all carry various ones of these as well. You make outstanding lights. The HL7 is a remarkable light. I used one during a power outage this past weekend to light a power pole 200 yards away for a power company lineman. My light was so much better than his that I ended up giving him mine. We also used your EAL15 to give to our lodge and cottage guests during t! he power outage. We have also tried your EAL20. I would really like to see a small, compact lantern like the EAL15 that is brighter. Your lights are a pleasure to use, they are rugged and work, they are bright, and the batteries last a long time. Keep up the good work. Scott

I just wanted to say thank you. I have beyond terrible night vision from long term effects of chemo therapy, from when I was just a baby. It is so hard from me to function in the dark while camping or even just in the dark corner of the garage. Your lights are the first flashlights I am completely comfortable in the dark with. I have your HP5, the headlamp(brightest one you sell) and the 220 lumen quick adjust one. They make my life so much easier I seriously THANK YOU for what you do. I heard that you have a new upgraded version of the x21 coming out in June and I cannot wait for it! I will for sure be one of the first to buy it. For me the brighter the better! you guys make it possible. Keep it up guys!!

Emergency Lantern

Monday, May 2nd, 2011

Mike W.

I received an emergency lantern to test for Handyman Club. The test went great when I tested it about a month ago. However I didn’t know the real test that was to come on 4/27/2011. I live in Alabama and we were hit with several F3-F5 tornados, we had no power for about 5 days. This lantern has been going strong throughout this time and has not failed, this is truly a great product and every home owner should have one. Thanks for a great product.

V2 6 Chip Dual Color LED Flashlight

Tuesday, April 12th, 2011

I work at an airport here in denver, and I was looking through what was left over from our snow dump. After a quick look I saw something it turned out to be a coast flashlight, this light must have been through hell Loaders, dump trucks -20 weather and a couple monthes of melting snow. I cleaned it off the best I could and found two buttons and to my surprise it worked perfect. when I opened it up it looked brand new inside, thought you would like to know

7736 V2

Wednesday, March 23rd, 2011

South East, CT

Ive had my tactical V2 for a matter of hours and im blown away. At first I thought it would be just a handy, compact light for a reasonable price. But the first time I used it, $40 seems like nothing for what this little flashlight can do. The range is unbelievable, its brighter than the HIDs on my car! If I ever need another light I will be buying a Coast tactical 2 or 4 color light, as the 7736 is almost TOO BRIGHT for use at close range. The beam is extremely focused and if you shine it at the ceiling of a dark room it illuminates everything with no shadows at all.

Tuesday, March 8th, 2011

Your flashlights are the very best. I owned maglights for a long time, non of them come close to the craftsmanship.I now own four of your lights

Tuesday, March 1st, 2011

Hello, I just wanted to write and let you know how pleased I am with my M7R. I am a Campus Police Officer in the State of North Carolina and I work the Night Shift. I have used my different brands of Flashlights during multiple Tours of Duty and I can honestly tell you that this is the best purchase I have made in my LEO career. I am spreading the word for you guys!!!!! Thank You

I would just like to say how well made and durrible the V2 is. I use mine for work so I wear it on my belt, so its with me all the time. And I have to say the other night as I was removing my belt before bed I forgot my light was still on my side. Believe it or not as luck would have it as I took my belt off I heard a thud. Yes it found the toilet. It took me a couple of days to get to taking to toilet apart to free the obvious clog and to my surprise my V2 still works! So after a good cleaning it is back on my side where it belongs. Thanks for a good quality product

P7 & X21

Monday, February 21st, 2011

I purchased a P7 a few years back and was nothing short of amazed at what a great flashlight it is. Small, easy to handle and BRIGHT. I subsequently purchased one for my father and father in-law. They have both been equally amazed at what a fantastic and useful flashlight it is. My father – 83, USNA class of 1949 asked me, and I quote, “Where did you get this? It really is spectacular.” In all, the P7 is my all-around favorite given it’s size, durability, construction, brightness and overall usability. Then in January, my wife informed me that she’d won the monthly giveaway for an X21. I must have looked at the email notification 20 times…I just couldn’t believe it. I’d coveted the X21 for quite sometime. Then it arrived. It is by far the most powerful hand-held flashlight I have ever seen, much less owned or used. There is absolutely no comparison. Durability, construction and usability are top notch, like the P7. If I needed another flashlight… I’d not only purchase another COAST LED in a heartbeat, more so, I’d accept no substitute.

Brightest Flashlight

Wednesday, January 5th, 2011

My son and a group of friends just used the flashlight for the first time.  They were exploring a tunnel under the city of Hot Springs.  They all had different brand flashlights and without a doubt the coast was superior.  Everyone asked about the flashlight and where he got it.  The second best flashlight was my older version of the same one.  All were amazed by the power of such a small flashlight.

Congratulations on such a fine product.

Great Lights!

Just wanted to let you know that i own 12 coast lights. I am a Lieutenant at a sheriff’s office and a team leader on our swat team. Ive been very pleased (only 1 broken) and recommend them to all of my new deputies. Thanks for a great product at a fair price. Oh, and my wife just gave me another T-7 for Christmas. Lucky me!

I want to say how impressed I am with your service and product support. I have owned two small V2 flash lights. I use them while hunting and around the house, etc. They have worked flawlessly for years. This past year one of them was not functioning porperly. You and your company asked me to send the flash light back to your company for repair. I just received the flash light back. You did not repair it you replaced it with the new version – thank you I am very impressed. Not only that I have been draging my wife and son into different rooms showing the power of the new light. WOW — as much as I thought the “old” flash light out performed anything I had before (of that size and larger), this new one is amazing. I did notice it appears to be more of a spot light while the other appeared more of a flood concept. Very im! pressive and can not wait to go out in the night to try it out. Thanks again

Thanks for replacing a headlight and flashlight recently. I’ve purchased maybe 8 of your lights during the past 2 years. I was sold on your product immediately when I failed to check my pockets and tossed the first of many lights purchased from you into the washer… When I heard it clanking around the dryer, I thought “there goes fourty bucks down the drain”. I hit the switch and it lit right up! Sold! A great product and great support. I’ll continue to purchase your excellent products as long as you continue to offer top quality and top service. Thank you, and all the best for 2011. Paul S. Winemaker / Owner Vermeil Wines and OnThEdge Winery

I work for Arcadia P.D., which is located in L.A. County. Over the course of 18 years of police work, I have bought and used several flashlights. From Maglite and Streamlight recharchables to Surefire products. These flashlights all have common deficiencies. They are expensive, not bright compared to your products, run time is only an hour at best, and require several hours to recharge, or with the Surefire, it needs expensive lithium batteries. I recently purchased at Home Depot your (3) AAA V2, which has 90 lumens of power and it’s for my duty belt. This thing is awesome and is clearly superior to those other products. I plan on supplementing this smaller light with your P17 model. You have an excellent product. Glad I made the switch.

Coast Flashlights

I have been a Maglight owner for years, I have just recently purchased a coast light, I was so impressed with this flashlight that I now own two. My question is, “do you know anyone that wants to buy some maglights”? Keep up the great product.

Hello, I am a Deputy for L.A. County and yesterday I had to qualify at the mobile range with a flashlight. I was in lane 3 my partner was in lane 1. I had a Steamlight and he had his flashlight he bought at LOWES. During the course of fire his flashlight (T7) completely drowned out my Streamlight and lane 2′s flashlight during the whole qual. I could not believe how powerful that light was. Great product!

On 12/3/2010 My Brother who lives in Las Vegas stopped a home break in by using your P17 light alone. About 3:00 AM he noticed a strange car in the Neighbors drive way, and grabed the P17 to check it out. He shined the light in the car and someone ducked down, then concerened he shined this llght in the Neighbor’s window, which was so bright it woke the Neighbor up and she could hear them trying to enter the residense and called the Police. (by the way this Residence is a quarter block away) We both bought the P17 at last years SEMA show and love it’s power. GREAT PRODUCT!!!!!

Black Z-Frame

Tuesday, November 16th, 2010

Russell S.

Sir or Ma’am, My name is Russell Southard and I wanted to write and say that during a recent deployment I was without a knife and it was becoming a bit of a pain. Knives come in handy of course, and even more so in deployed conditions. I was strapped for cash though so I bought the cheapest knife I could from a company I had never heard of, YOUR company and it has become my go-to knife for just about everything. Not just while deployed either. It’s solid enough to use and know it isn’t going to get away from you, and comfortable enough to use that you never have any problems, tightening of fingers or cramps or anything like that and light and small enough that it’s never too much of a weight in your pocket (but just enough that you know it’s there and never think “If ONLY I had a knife!” And even though this little black Z-Frame was INCREDIBLY low in cost, it’s not cheap at all – not in quality. I used to think that nothing could beat a S&W switchblade that I used to carry, but this knife that I think I paid $12.00 for is proving to be a better buy. Because of that I wanted to write and let you know that you’re doing a GREAT job and in the future when I need a multi-tool or a bigger knife, Coast is the FIRST place I’ll look. Thank you for your time and have a great day! Sincerely, Russell S.

Home Depot Flashlight

Redondo Beach, CA

I am a pilot for a Regional Airline and I bought one from The Home Depot to put into my flight case. I was so impressed with the strength and quality of light, I now have one in both our cars, one in my tool box, and even a tac torch on my keychain! Coast flashlights pack alot of light without unwanted bulk. They are clearly superior and provide great value and thats why I own so many of them. They make great gifts too!

7438 Home Depot

Wednesday, November 10th, 2010

I’m a helicopter pilot for our local Law Enforcement Agencies. I purchased your model 7438 lite from Home Depot recently and have found it to be very useful. I recently utilize the light(2300 hour) to help in the search for a suspect. We had landed the helo for work related reasons and were waiting for a passenger. One of the SWAT personnel had related that the suspect was in the area where we had landed. I pointed the lite in the direction stated and their he was. The light was so bright ground units thought the lite was from the helo spot light. Several of the SWAT members were impressed and went to Home Depot to buy one.

Best Flashlight

I just wanted to let you and your company know that this is, by far, the best flashlight I have ever seen, used or bought. It’s like having a large spotlight in my hand that I can hold with two fingers. I work in Detention Centers installing new automation controls and cameras. There has been a need to hold a flashlight in the cable runs for hours at a time in need of lots of light. The T7 is so easy to hold and it’s amazing how bright it is as well as it’s one hand focus. I have been showing it off to lot’s of police officers and jailers. They cant believe it. I know there will be several of them going out to get one because it puts their $140 flashlight to shame! I was hesitant to pay $70 for a flashlight that small, but now I feel it’s the best deal I paid for any of my to! ols. Thanks for such a great product. I am now one of your biggest fans and work all over the states, so count on me being a “sales rep” for you! Do you have things like hats and stuff with your logo on them? Thanks again Dave

I’m a general surgeon & wound care specialist just returned from my second tour in Port-au-Prince, Haiti (first was several weeks after the quake in 01/10). The COAST 7497 H7 is definitely THE best headlamp in the business. This headlamp served me well – including lighting me in the operating room when the power went out. Saw many other headlamps in use and everyone agreed that this unit was far and away the best unit anyone had ever seen – in a totally different class than all the others! Need to buy some to send to my Haitian colleagues – can you make a deal/good price?

V2 Flashlights

I just wanted to let you know that I bought my first Coast v2 flashlights several years ago. I have since bought several other lights from you. Recently I bought a rechargeable 077858 from you. I am a commercial HVAC tech and use my flashlight all the time. I also live in the country on 10+ acres and am constantly outside in the night time. This latest flashlight has surpassed my expectations. The initial cost was pretty high so it had to prove itself to me. However, after using this light both as my work light and at home after work, I bought another of the same for my wife. As a person that considers a flashlight an essential part of my life I just wanted to let you know that your product has impressed me to the point that I am considering purchasing more as presents for family/friends because I am so impressed. I know that mo! st people do not consider flashlights to be an important item. Nobody wants to spend more than a few dollars on something like this but I am pretty sure that if they actually purchase one of these lights they would immediately realize the obvious. The rechargeability it a very important advantage for me. I have purchase an emergency light from you and am waiting for your version of rechagreable emergency lights. I am sure that most people typically send letters only when they have complaints and I wanted you to know that I am very impressed with your products. Keep up the good work. Thanks

My father who lives in Alaska part of the year has the greatest appreciation for your products. I have purchased your lanterns & T7′s for him. Once when he was boating along the coast line he was looking for a safe place to pull ashore at night(no docks) & his friend was waiving a “regular” flashlight trying to get his attention on where to land, got a bit of a surprise when my dad uses the T7 to light up the area of where to come into. When the land goer was aboard, he asked if my dad had one of those Fancy 2 Million candle power spots aboard his boat. “nope – just this little thing my son bought me” well he could not believe it was possible until he tried it himself. Another time a pole working was working on repairing the phone lines in Washington state where my Dad lives the other 1/2 of the year. Storms had come through the night before & knocked down trees & many lines. As Dusk was passing & night approaching the weary linesman was struggling to hold the flashlight & look at the colored wires to connect properly ( good lead in for head lamps H7/7497 to be sold to linesman )when he complained above having to go back to the truck for a better flashlight. My dad said to wait just a minuet & that he’d go get his to help. The lineman was now thinking, “I know what kind of wimpy flashlight you’ll have & it won’t reach me 30′ up on a pole” so he insisted that he’ll get his “work light” My dad told him to just hang, I’ll be right back. Upon returning my dad warned him, “now whatever you do, DO NOT Look BACK when I turn this on” yeah-sure, BAMM! on goes the T7 on spot beam, right where he is working. “How’s that- enough light now?” Holy -cr__! , uh-ya, thanks I’m good now, & thanks for the warning. After the linesman comes back down, he tells him how many homeowners come back with their standard 2-D flashlights, thinking they’re helping, but this, where’d you get it? Ah- # 1 son has this flashlight fetish & keeps sending me these things. Thanks to your quality product, my dog walking nights are safer & my dad gets to be the hero he likes being.

When it’s midnight, and a storm has taken down some trees and possibly some fence, and you hear coyotes howling, are they letting others know that you just had a half-dozen baby goats born last night? When you go out to check the fences, feeders, water tanks, and so on, it’s nice to have a firearm AND a light capable of dealing with whatever you find, safely, humanely, and effectively. It’s no time for a wimpy flashlight, duct-taped to your trusty old shotgun. The T-7 and a Marlin levergun may just be what is needed. The picture: The making of the project – (scroll to the second page to see the T-7 replacing a previous light).

Not a question but praise for your superior flashlights. 3 AAA batteries run my flashlight due to your tech and the brightness astounds anyone! I learned of your products while working at the Portland, Oregon airport for Horizon Air. Immediately I purchased one of your head lamps and one of your lights. I have worn out both multiple times and the customer service in Portland is not to be outdone! I say your company’s name anytime light products come up and in a Surefire-type dominated field(now a government contractor) I spread the gospel of your superior flashlight and have made many a convert! No question today, just praise. Thank you.

The company I work for designs, manufactures, installs and maintains weather stations for airports. We travel all over the planet installing these devices. And when I say “all over the world” I don’t just mean the nice places. We often end up in remote areas of places like Nigeria, India, Indonisia and all over Centeral and South America. Our technicians and engineers are always looking for gear that is well made, durable and most of all dependable. I can promise that crawling around is some snake infested, dark, muggy, rotted out crawl space in a developing nation pulling communication cable is no place for your lights to go out. I think we’ve finally found a company whose products will not fail us. You guys rock!

I recently attended a national tactical school sponsored by the Department of Justice. During the school, a portion of training was dedicated to low or no light scenario’s. I didn’t have a mount so I used black electrical tape and taped one of your COAST P-7 lights to the barrell of an L-8 “Less Lethal” multi launcher. I was the point man for the entry element and one of the instructors was playing a bad guy. As I entered the hall, the instructor stepped out with the intention of attacking the team, and I “hit” him with a blast of full power light from the P-7. Long story short he quit becasue he flat couldn’t see, and was actually removed from trainig for the remainder of the night because he could only see spots. I have five of your lights and plan on buying more.

I was working on an elevator in a building with 26 stories. I was on the top floor when I dropped my flashlight down the elevator shaft. I found it pieces in the pit. It was badly damaged but I managed to get it somewhat back together. Ipushed the button to turn it on and the damn thing turned on. I was truly amazed! I have tried some other LED lights, but nothing really compares to these lights so I bought another one, and glad I did.

Sir, I have purchased several of your tactical flashlights, specifically from Home Depot. After examining their construction, interior and exterior, i find them to be at least on-par,if not superior to the high dollar Surefires and Streamlights. I am really impressed with the internal battery cradle with gold electrical connections. Great design! I feel your products are very reasonably priced also. To me, it is laughable what some other companies charge for their flashlights.

I just wanted to drop you a quick note to say that I am a huge fan of your products. I have purchased 6 of your lights over the past couple of years both for personal use and for gifts for family and friends. My small 3 (AAA) tactical light puts my 4D Maglite LED to SHAME! Unbelievable product! I will never switch to anyone else. I would love to own your X21, but my wife would have a fit if I ever spent that much money on a flashlight. I keep registering for your raffle every month in hopes I might get lucky! Keep up the good work!

I just want to tell you how happy I am with my 7736D LED Light. I use my light to inspect my UPS tractor and trailer during my night working hours. I started out with a comparable Surefire light and your light out performs it hands down. I’ve been using it for 2 months now with out a battery change and the bright light it gives off is as bright as it was when I first got it. Thanks for providing me with a tool that helps keep alive.

Last year my husband was working with the Boy Scout cleaning a ceremoney ring when he lost his flashlight. One year later after one of our worst winter with two major ice storms. One of the boys found his flashlight during the clean up of the ceremoney ring. After replacing the battery the thing work like new. You make and A#1 product.

I bought your X21 flashlight and I am truly amazed. The amount of light output is incredible and I like how I can focus the light. I also like the fact that the light doesn’t need those expensive batteries. Using “D” batteries is great and the flashlight stays bright for a long time. I love it.

I was routing intricate inlays in my banjo neck with a Dremmel tool but was unable to get enough light to see my work, I fastened a Coast L.E.D. laser light to my tool and directed the beam towards my work and was able to see perfectly. It has a very bright beam and does not weigh so much that it is awkward. Good product for tool applications , thanks – Don

I recently sent in a headlamp for a switch repair, and not only did I receive a brand new light at no charge, but it went out & back in only 6 days total time. Awsome service!!! I have 3 types of coast headlamps that I use at a Navy helicopter training base here in the Pensacola area, & these are by far the best I have ever owned–and I have tried many others in the past. I also have a set of the camp lights, which I can use at home in case of power outage, or use to change a tire at night. They also double as backup aircraft directing wands, should my regular ones have a problem. I recently gave a Coast 4 color recon flashlight to a Navy night vision helicopter instructor, which he hangs from his neck on the included lanyard, & he loves it! Thanks for making such great products Coast!!! I am one really satisfied & happy customer.

My wife and I had to make an unexpected trip to her moms house due to a possible intrusion. When we arrived we had no light outside but a small half-lit street light. I ask my wife to please stay in the car because there was no movement in the house or in the vehicle, which belonged to her mother. Kind of scary. I have several years and quite a few scares under my belt in doing minor investigative work for a certain security firm, so scoping out the house was nothing new to me.  To my advantage, I had this little respected tool, (to some it is not respected) piece of art work by Coast that most call a flashlight. If it were’nt for the brightness and battery life of this “Little Giant”, then I would’nt have been able to find my way around the house. Noone was found snooping, luckily for them, ha ha the beam would have hurt them worse than a club LOL. Great little dude I say, I own two of the same light, one for the left pocket, and one for the right. Thanks, Coast, for a great light!! It lit the whole inside of the garage as well, like a large  rechargeable light. Needless to say, her mom was fine. This light was Just what I needed……

Just received the LL7848. I have had a lot of small flashlights in my life. I can find brighter lights (which use special CR123 batteries) and I can find smaller lights (which use button cells) but for the size, convenience and a single, easy to find AA battery I think you have the optimum design compromises between size, battery life, spot size and brightness in the LL7848. This is my pick of most useful flashlights to own. There are plenty of reasons to have other flashlights to serve special needs but this is probably the best general purpose flashlight available. Well done.

I have a coast flashlight, the focus led model. I dropped it in the wire pit at work,I am a papermaker. It stayed under water for over 3 weeks. During a shutdown I was able to drain the pit and find the light. Changed the batteries and it worked! What a great flashlight.

V2 Tactical Power Chip Torch

Friday, October 30th, 2009

A few month ago I bought V2 Tactical Power Chip Torch, White Beam for a scheduled law enforcement exercise.  At the time, everybody was impressed with is size, intense light and cost.  This past weekend, I joined my son’s boy scout troop (13 boys, 3 adult leaders, and me) for a trip to Lonesome Lake in NH.  Because of innumerable delays and slowdowns (they took too much f@#$% s*&^), the hike, which should have taken about two hours, took much, much longer.  Anyway, the sun had set, the temperature was dropping, and a late season snow was falling.  Everybody was tired and cold and we lost the trail.  The snow was so high, covered the trail blazes.  The kids put on their head lamps which helped a little. But my little flash light, that I pocketed almost as an after thought, helped retrace our steps, set a new course and find the AMC cabin (on of the adults lugged a 3 D cell light
up the hill only to find out it was dead).   I don’t know if that little
light saved us a freezing night in the woods, but it did provide a lot of comfort.

I received my t7 flashlight on Monday. I’m like a kid with a new toy. I can’t put it down.

I have had several LED lights from Inova, EGear and none of them compare to the T7 light.

This thing is the most powerful hand held light that I have ever seen. With the ability to go from

a spot light to a flood light in just a second makes it the most useful tool you could ever have for the

back country of Colorado or just your back yard. GREAT PRODUCT.
