Oregon Youth Fishing Event — Free!

The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW) is hosting a free youth angling event this Saturday, September 26, at West Salish Pond in Fairview.

According to an ODFW press release, the pond will be stocked with 1,200 legal size rainbow trout and 1,000 larger trout. Additionally, the department will also supply fishing gear including rods, reels, bait, tackle, and fish bags for use by young anglers who do not have their own fishing equipment. ODFW staff and volunteers will be on hand from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. to answer questions and offer assistance to less experienced anglers.

Eugene: Youth Fishing Event

The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW) is hosting another free fishing event for youth. On Saturday, May 16th, from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Alton Baker Canoe Canal in Eugene, youngsters are invited to come and discover the joys of fishing.

ODFW staff and volunteers will be available to help teach casting, reeling, and landing a fish. Fishing equipment will be provided for those who do not possess their own, but participants are encourgaed to bring their own fishing gear as well.

Reinhart Pond: Free Fishing!

Youngsters, grab your fishing gear! The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW) invites you to its free youth fishing event on Saturday, May 2 at Reinhart Pond in Grant Pass from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.  

As a part of ODFW’s Youth Angling Enhancement Program, the event is co-sponsored by Crater Bass Club and ODFW, who will provide staff, fishing equipment, and angling instruction. ODFW says they are stocking 600 legal-sized rainbow trout especially for this event.

Junction City: Youth Fishing Event

Another free fishing event for young people who want to learn how to fish will be held on Saturday, April 18 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Junction City Pond. The event is Junction City Moose Lodge’s annual youth fishing derby.

The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW) is sponsoring the event as a part of its Youth Angling Enhancement Program. ODFW will stock the pond with more than 1,000 rainbow trout from the Willamette Hatchery in Oakridge.

ODFW: Youth Event at St. Louis Ponds

Got youth who like to fish? The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW) is hosting a free event for young anglers on Saturday, April 11 at St. Louis Ponds from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event is a part of the Youth Angling Enhancement Program and will offer staff and volunteers to assist those who want to learn how to fish.

ODFW to Host Youth Fishing Event

Oregonians, grab your kids and your fishing gear! A free youth fishing event is being held at the McNary Channel Ponds near Hermiston, reports the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW). The event will be held on Saturday, April 4 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and is open to all youth 2 to 12 years-old.
