Basic Knife Safety

Here at Coast we believe that a good knife is an essential tool for any outdoor enthusiast to possess. But a knife is just that – a tool. And like any tool, it’s important for the owner to know exactly how to safely use it. With that in mind, here are a few tips on basic knife handling safety.

1. Always hold the knife by the handle
This may seem like a no-brainer, but you’d be surprised how many people injure themselves by holding a knife by the blade. Any knife blade can be dangerous, but large hunting knives and skinning knives can be especially troublesome if handled incorrectly.

Tips for Your Little Halloween Hikers

HalloweenHalloween: an evening filled with creative costumes, scary stories, and tasty treats! Though while the holiday is an exciting one, it also has a reputation for being ominous and unsafe.
