Oregon Launches “Let’s Go Camping” Campaign

Let’s face it: Camping can be challenging, especially if you’ve never gone before. You have to worry about what to pack, where to go and how to set up that brand-new tent. Luckily, the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department has you covered.

The OPRD has launched “Let’s Go Camping,” a summer program aimed at helping beginners get acquainted with the basics of camping. The overnight camping program will feature ranger-led nature hikes; Dutch oven cooking and fire safety; owl prowls and bat hikes; and educational segments on plant identification, sustainable camping and how to camp without leaving a trace. There will even be extra equipment in case you haven’t acquired all the camping gear necessities just yet.
