Oregon Fall Hunting Forecast Now Available

Hunters around the Northwest are preparing for deer, elk, bear and game bird season this month and are eager to hear about the potential for an excellent season. The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife and published their 2008 Fall Hunting Forecast for just such hunting enthusiasts.
The guide highlights how the weather conditions of the past winter and summer are expected to affect the wild animal populations around the state, including the high deserts of eastern Oregon and the northeast Wallowa Mountains.  Helpful hunting tips as well as population survey data is also included for some animals like bears and waterfowl.

Oregon Hunting Tag Reminder

Oregonians love their hunting season. You don’t have to drive far from Portland, Bend, Medford or any other of the state’s great cities to enjoy a wide range of hunts.  As hunters prepare their gear, whether it’s to go bow hunting for elk or pheasant hunting, remember to follow the law and purchase your hunting tags.

Controlled hunting tags limit the number of hunters for particular hunts and areas to improve game management and enhance the hunting experience. Controlled hunting tags are purchased through a state’s game and wildlife department.  The deadline to purchase any controlled hunt tag is the day before the earliest hunt opens.

Oregon BowTech Sponsoring American Archer on The Outdoor Channel

Eugene, Oregon based BowTech announced this winter that they will be sponsoring “American Archer,” an all-archery show available on The Outdoor Channel.  “American Archer” gives viewers a first hand look at authentic bow hunting all over Africa, Canada and Europe. The show is hosted by Tom Nelson, a bow hunting professional with over 30 years of experience.
