Hunters around the Northwest are preparing for deer, elk, bear and game bird season this month and are eager to hear about the potential for an excellent season. The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife and published their 2008 Fall Hunting Forecast for just such hunting enthusiasts.
The guide highlights how the weather conditions of the past winter and summer are expected to affect the wild animal populations around the state, including the high deserts of eastern Oregon and the northeast Wallowa Mountains. Helpful hunting tips as well as population survey data is also included for some animals like bears and waterfowl.
