A South Korean mountain climber, Jun Ho Wang, fell victim to an avalanche in Yosemite National Park on Monday. Wang was stranded for nearly 16 hours before rescue came Tuesday morning.
Falling snow and ice separated Wang from his seven-person climbing party, sweeping him more than 100 yards down a rock face and into an icy low-lying gully. Apparently, a climber desecended in order to help and stay with Wang through the night. Another climber radioed for help once off the mountain.
