The coordinators of the leading event for the global LED industry, Strategies in Light, have announced that they will hold a new event, Strategies in Light Japan, at the TEPIA Exhibition Hall in Tokyo, October 16-17, 2008. The original U.S. based event is the largest event of its kind in the industry. Event organizers,Pennwell Corporation and e.x. Press, are looking to tap into the growing number of LED manufactuers, users and suppliers based in Japan by holding a education and promotional event in the country. The event will focus on high-brightness LEDs, the technology and the systems using LEDs.
Industry experts estimate that roughly 45% of the world’s LED supply in 2007 came from Japan manufacturers. Japan is home of Nichia Corporation, one of the world’s largest high brightness LED makers, in additional to five other well know suppliers.
“LED products have become increasingly ubiquitous as they have penetrated a broad spectrum of markets which are impacting every aspect of our lives,” said Sr. VP of PennWell, Jayne Gilsinger. “Strategies in Light Japan will place increased emphasis on these exciting new products and technologies.”
