On the first day of Christmas, my true-love gave to me: a hunting license! Ok, so you don’t exactly have to be someone’s “true love” to give him a hunting or fishing license, but whoever receives your gift will certainly love you for it. If you’re struggling finding the perfec gift for your sportsman, you can’t go wrong with gifting him the ability to spend more time doing what he loves. In Oregon, hunting and fishing licenses for the 2009 season went on sale yesterday, December 1.
According to the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, in order to purchase a license as a gift, you’ll need the full name and date of birth (month, day, year) of the recipient. If you’re purchasing a license for someone who has never had a license, you will have to provide his or her social security number. Also, be sure to tell the sales clerk you’re making a gift purchase.
In addition to purchasing a license in person, hunting and fishing licenses can be purchased online via the ODFW web site.
