Gas Prices Plummet — Now’s the time to travel!

As many folks are gearing up for holiday travel, gas prices are plummeting — what impeccable timing!  According to a recent article from CNN, gas prices have dropped for 61 days on end, cutting per gallon costs nearly in half.  The national average is now $2.087 compared to $4.114 in mid-July.

The dramatic decline in fuel prices is a result of less demand for crude oil and the worldwide economic recession, analysts say.  Since there is no apparent “quick fix” for the gloomy status of the global economy, low gas prices are likely to stick around for awhile.

So, while holiday travel may be a given, why not consider taking advantage of low fuel costs to finally take that vacation you ditched last summer?  Or maybe you’ve been dreaming of an epic road trip.  Well, now’s the time!  Start planning, and enjoy the open road…

Travel Tip: Don’t forget to pack an emergency kit for your vehicle in case of unforeseen problems.  These kits are important to ensuring the safety of family or fellow passengers, not to mention your own.  You can make one yourself or buy one, but the essentials to a functional kit includes a basic first aid kit, reliable LED flashlight, water, and something that either produces or saves heat (i.e. emergency blanket).
