It is amazing the number of places you can find LED lights. LED applications are in the home, in the car and at our work spaces. LED bulbs that can replace standard incandescent bulbs are becoming very popular, generally because they are much more efficient than standard bulbs. Even before they began to come into the home as a source of light, they still had a variety of uses. Your television remote control may utilize an LED light. Alarm clocks often use LED bulbs to illuminate the backlight of the time screen. The little red or green lights in your electronic devices or appliance, like your computer hard drive, coffee pot or curling iron are all LEDs. They have been used in these kinds of applications for quite some time.
We come into contact with LEDs everyday in a variety of other places, as well. A lot of traffic lights and lighted street signs are starting to use LEDs. Flashlights, lanterns and a lot of other safety and sporting good equipment are being made with LEDs. When you are driving down the road and pass by a animated billboard, it is most likely made up of thousands of different colored LEDs.
The amount of LED light application is growing and diversifying. We will still see LEDs in these types of uses but we may very well see them used more so, or they may provide even more benefits than simple indicator lights or backlights.
