Cree, Inc. announced its LEDs are featured in the new HD video screens recently installed in the American Airlines Arena in Dallas, Texas.
Home to both the Mavericks (NBA) and Stars (NHL), the American Airlines Arena is now equipped with Cree’s versatile 3-in-1 high-brightness LEDs that are delivering crystal-clear, high-definition images to fans throughout the arena.
In addition to hosting thousands of NBA and NHL fans, the American Airlines Arena also hosts a vast number of events and entertainment venues throughout the year. Almost 10 years-old, the arena seats up to 20,000 people.
The installation of 25 LED video screens is part of a large-scale technological renovation project. This includes the first 1080 x 1920 high-definition video screen in any NBA or NHL facility. According to Cree, the new LED screens will “increase video visibility throughout the facility, providing spectators with dramatic instant replays, important scoring information, and dynamic ad content in vivid color and ultra-sharp detail.”
Furthermore, the arena’s core display consists of four LED screens, each producing high-quality, superior-focus images to keep basketball and hockey fans front and center with all the action, and providing advertising screens on the top and bottom sections of the screen. At each end of the arena, two stadium-sized video screens have been installed, each three times larger than the previous monitors.
