Any avid outdoor enthusiast will tell you that when it comes to safety equipment, it doesn’t pay to go cheap. Sure, it may seem tempting to simply pick up a plastic flashlight from the local convenience store when it only costs $1.99, but what happens if that shoddily-made light goes out when you really need it? You would be left in an inconvenient and possibly dangerous situation. High-quality LED lights and strong, durable hunting and fishing knives can make all the difference in the world if you find yourself in a survival situation. Camping, hunting, backpacking and fishing equipment follow the same basic rule as anything else you could possibly buy: You get what you pay for.
