Camping enthusiasts know
the importance of a good flashlight. But not every camper knows just what to look for when choosing an LED camping flashlight. Should it be big and bulky? Small and lightweight? What type of batteries should it run on? What type of bulb should it use? Don’t get too overwhelmed – the following are five features you should look for when buying a new LED flashlight for camping.
1. Durability
Camping can be a rough venture. Your new flashlight should be water-resistant, scratch-resistant, and corrosion-resistant. Many flashlights offer one or two of these features, but you should invest in a high-quality LED flashlight that boasts all three.
2. Quality of Light
What good is a flashlight if the light output is bad? Choose an LED camping flashlight in order to get the brightest beam possible. You also want your beam to be adjustable, so it can go from a spotlight to a floodlight quickly and easily.
3. Versatility
Are you a thrifty camper? Then you should buy an LED camping flashlight that converts into a mini lantern. These are perfect for inside tents or if you’re camping somewhere you can’t build a fire.
4. Size
Apply the Goldilocks and the Three Bears principle to this feature – not too big, not too small, but just right. Ideally, you should have two LED flashlights with you when you go camping: a small, lightweight one you can put in a backpack or emergency pack, and a larger one with a stronger beam and longer battery life.
